Sorry I was slow on getting the files up, Keith picked up the slack. Based on our emails, I think we motivated Russ into finishing his tool/video. He read our thread here when I sent him the link, and wanted to make sure there was a tool that anyone with just a laser could make:
All good stuff if you have a mill/lathe or a 3D printer but this version only requires you to have the tool you are using (a laser cutter)
I have attached the dxf file for inclusion into the portfolio and I have also attached so more recent goodies that folks have been asking about.
I'm printing my version right now too so I'll be back to report on how that went.

I am curious as to whether it will work with 18 mm and 20 mm lenses holders without modification.
Too cold in the shop to work on it right now, to take apart the lens and get the correct distance.
It seems to be about 19 mm center to center.

A Russ design original mirror retaining ring removal tool! He references to this forum, which means there's a post somewhere here with the files, although it hasn't shown up on my RSS feed yet.
Yeah, I got beaten to it :D I watched it this morning. Not sure how I feel about using a threaded screw on those retaining nut holes, but it sure is simple!

My tool didn't work, I screwed up a dimension. That's what I get for trying to whip out a design that late at night. You would think I would have learned that by now. I'll redo it when I get some time.

Keith - I measured ~ 19.7mm center to center which is a strange dimension. When I sketched it up late last night I just assumed it was 20mm when I took a quick measurement.

I rotated one of the pieces and got 22 mm width and 3 mm for hole (in the software), so figured ~ 19 center to center.
