Another LED Base....

Post by Preben Hovedskou » Tue Aug 23, 2016 11:18 am

Hello freinds of lasers...

Here you have the files for my version of a little LED-base.
The base is very powerfull and give a huge amount of light to the acrylic edge.
It's powered via normal USB, so you can hook it up almost everywhere.

Cut the parts and build up from A-J (button to top)
Part G is for mounting the led-strip. (see my post in the group "Be Proud Of Your Work" for details.
Part D have a little notch... this is for marking where to drill the hole for the power-plug.
Be carefull when drilling, it is easy to rip up the plywood.! (use a Dremmel for the best result)

I bought the LED-strips with remote on AliExpress...:

But you can find them everywhere, and maybe for a better price.?... just Google it.. ;-)

Happy building... ;-)

Those turned out excellent. Did you do the drawing yourself? Very impressive.

My daughter bought this (similar) bottom lit light on Amazon for about $20 with a remote, she said that she had found the base only for about $10.The size is 3.25 diameter and 1.75 tall and has full color leds. I see it now for $15.72- not sure if that is a price reduction or if I get a better price with my business account. Gene

Have you purchased from DHgate? I have not heard of it. Reviews seem to be OK. I have bought quite a lot from Banggood with excellent results and it seems similar. These also seem to be rechargeable batteries which would be better for some people. Thanks Gene

This is my first purchage from DHgate.. Did'nt know them before, but everything looks quite fine.
They seems to have a lot of goodies in their catalog, and the prices are not too bad....
