Electrical Warning This Can Kill You!

Post by Scott Bennett » Sat Dec 17, 2016 10:28 pm

Here is a video that kind of scared me into making sure my machine is wired up and grounded correctly. This guy is a Physicists and gives some very important information.

That guy has some good videos. I watched the one at your link back when I was buying my machine and it inspired me to investigate the grounding here.

Good post. Not trusting the electrical on my machine I ran a dedicated ground and tied it to the laser box and the frame it's sitting on. I know most people don't understand just how dangerous this stuff is and everyone should watch this video. Then watch the videos to see what happens when you leave the machine unattended for " just a few seconds".

Totally agree about grounding, I have just taken a weekend to rewire all the Ac power cables inside my laser as the wire used was shocking. I have also earthed all the parts as well. Living in the UK we have an earth pin in the 13A plug so made sure it all ties back.

I also changed the colours used in the unit so they follow UK standards as well, gives me piece of mind.
