It's a PC, No it doesn't go onto stand by, As soon as you power up the spindle controller the screen goes blank, and when you turn the controller off the screen comes back on again, I'll take a video of this happening.

Malcolm, did you get this fixed and if so, what was the cause?

Nope, can't find the problem, Tried 3 different screens, removed the software, re-installed the software, as soon as I click run on Mach3, the screen switches off. It's a strange one.

IMHO it's looking more like an interference/grounding issue with the vfd.

I assume mach3 is controlling the spindle speed via the vfd (mine is manual).

Does the screen go blank immediately on starting the spindle or does it flicker/distort momentarily.

Could you try a very simple program with an XY move only with no spindle speed control in it, pressing run it should move but with no vfd control so might help establish if its the vfd or mach.

Check the spindle power lead to the vfd and video lead routing, make sure you have minimal proximity and parallel routing.

Can you increase separation distance between the vfd and screen as a test.

A few suggestions, hopefully help a little

No Ian, I have a separate VFD to control the spindle, Here's a photo of what I have.

No flicker, I can move the X, Y, Z axis via the keyboard with no issues at all, aha, Wait a minute, I have just started the VFD to spin up the spindle and the screen went blank, and as soon as I press the stop button on the VFD the screen comes back on again. We're getting there

I understood the separate vfd, what I meant was that your gcode operates your vfd. Mine is manual.

Ok, I'd suggest looking at the wiring routing and grounding now, once the vfd is operational it's causing a fault or interference. Don't forget to check the cable connector on the top of the spindle.

Of course the usual disclaimer .... disconnect from supply before checking.

Malcolm.... are you using the onboard video or have you installed a separate (pci) video card? I've had issues with onboard video in mach3, and I'm pretty sure they suggest using separate card.
Just a suggestion.

Thanks Herb, BUT the complete system worked fine with no issues in my shop, Brought it home as it was tooooooo noisy in the shop. So the complete system is now at home and is really annoying the wife. (Brilliant) Over the weekend, I'll try moving all components apart rather than having them all squashed into a small area.

Keeping the spindle power and video leads separated and possibly the screen away from the vfd will hopefully help.

Fingers crossed

Problem solved,
Separated Computer and screen from the VFD as far as cables would allow and everything works perfect now. Great now that I can pause work if the phone goes, That's when I can hear it.

Thanks for all your help.......Happy Bunny again.
