RD V8 01.19

Post by Ray McCrodden » Tue Jan 03, 2017 10:09 am

As I wait on my first laser to complete its sea cruise I am working on understanding the RD works software. I have two questions that I hope can be answered.
We have version v8 01.19 and it was downloaded in late Nov or early Dec 2016

Has anyone been able to install the plugin for Autocad 2017?
Rudia, according to me machine manufacturer, claims it will work but we have not been able to accomplish that, we have it installed on Corel draw x6 and x7 with no issues.
The version of RDworks that we have does not have the measuring icon in the tool bar as shown and explained in the manual (RD works lab pg 34) any ideas on getting that would be appreciated
Thanks
Ray

Hi Ray- I do not have that version of -.19 either (my LO version is older). Doesn't Keith have -.21 now? Gene

Thanks Gene.
It seems V21 is very unstable at this point Rudia has removed it from there site for now it seems.

I have had no luck getting the AutoCAD macro to work form 8.01.19 or 8.01.18. The CorelDraw macro works fine though, as you've discovered. I had to go all the way back to 8.0.27, which is what was shipped with my x700 clone, to get the AutoCAD macros to work; I think 8.0.32 might also work. Likely other interim versions also work, but I haven't found them yet.

At the moment I have 8.01.19 loaded on my desktop and CorelDraw, and the 8.0.27 loaded just for AutoCAD... which of course means I can't save anything from the AutoCAD version and expect to be able to read it back in to the desktop version.

Highly annoying as AutoCAD is my primary design tool for the laser.

If anyone has had any success with the newer versions, I'd LOVE to hear about it.
