RDWorks and Windows 11

Post by Jeffrey Aley »

Hi Folks,

I'm pondering upgrading my PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

Does anyone use RDWorks with Windows 11? I'm currently using 8.01.24. Are there any issues that I should watch out for?

Thanks,

-Jeff

If this needs to go in a separate thread let me know:

I have just built a new pc, windows 11 and everything working fine including network access to my Nas via a mapped drive, where I store all my Rdworks files etc.

Installed rdworks .60, but so far I have been unable to see the mapped drive in the "File open" menu.

I have tried a couple of earlier versions.
Checked firewall to allow private access

Anyone experienced this and have a solution or pointer

Well, I eventually sussed the resolution, caused by running rdworks as an administrator, something I did because of another issue (can't recall)

Enablelinkedconnections: Enabling Mapped Drives in the Elevated Apps

Open the registry editor (regedit.exe);
Go to the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System;
Create a new parameter (DWORD type) with the name EnableLinkedConnections and the value 1
