Malcolm -

Is that all mirror surface and it is just picking up reflections off of the blue sky, clouds, nearby gray and black structures, etc? Or is it mostly mirror with a few pieces of inlaid black plastic? Or? It appears as though there is some interesting optical interplay occuring.

Steampunk Clock and Aztec design are made from 3mm Acrylic Mirror, engraved from the rear and painted with black acrylic paint to highlight the gears and framework. Clock was photographed inside the shop, The Aztec design was photographed outside and you are correct, It is the sky reflection you see.
I have a shop and a few facebook pages.
I spent Saturday night and all day today designing 3 new designs, I'll engrave and cut them out tomorrow and let you see them.

So on the flower and bummerfly one, it looks like like you engraved the reverse side, painted it and then cut it out? I love workflow. Gene

That's about it, I engraved the back, Cut it out and then painted the back. There's something that is just satisfying when a plan comes together.
