That file is very different. Only one line. Not worth it to me to try to figure out what the error is but you are correct it will not load. However, it has not had any effect on loading other files.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon. I too had that problem after creating a new file. Could have sworn I made a new file, saved it & then opened it, but that was before I did a shutdown & possibly that was what caused the result.
It took a LOT to get it back operational and I have no really good idea as to what finally fixed it, but I did about 4 or 5 installs and ran CCleaner so many times it was getting REALLY boring. However, one thing I did towards the end was to add the Association to the RLD file. It was not picking that up, so I had to set what program to open with (used Open With and Browse). After that it SEEMS to be working OK. I also had the Install/Uninstall situation from another thread, so created the "C:\newpr" folder, copied the RDWorksV8Uninstaller.exe from RDWorksV8 to that folder & renamed it to "Uninstall.exe" to repair the error in the registry.

I am sorry you had the problem I did - it was a pain to deal with.

This video gives an explicit process to remove and load RDWorks to operate with Corel.
Even if you choose not to interface with Corel the process points out some stray files that are not removed by performing an uninstall.
I followed this process to restore my RDWorks.
I saved this and other useful videos for future reference - you don't need to install and software to execute the process.

You can down load this and other YOUTUBE videos for free "http://en.savefrom.net/1-how-to-download-youtube-video/"

While you are on YouTube.com just add "ss" to the video URL in order to start the default YouTube downloader. For instance:

I'm running 8.01.10 and I can't read the file - even changing that text in notepad strangely enough.
At least I kept my original illustrator files.
Can the new version open the older version files (more important I guess!)
Also, do any settings need to be carried over if I install the new version?
