Ad Blocking Software

Postby Keith Sherwin » Sat Jun 25, 2016 12:25 pm

I found this wonderful software and find it really helpful https://adblockplus.org/
It removes a myriad of undesired advertisements from most websites and helps many of them load faster.
I use it with FireFox.

Also, if you're using Firefox, in Addons, setting your Flash to "Ask to Activate" gets rid of a whole load of flash based adverts too. Youtube etc doesn't need Flash. (You'll get a line at the top of the screen when you visit a website with Flash content asking if you want to allow it to play or not and/or remember your decision).

uBlock is also highly recommended. Stops over 3 dozen things happening behind the scenes everytime I go to a youtube page for example. Never see an advert :)

Yes. It is always surprising/frustrating to go view something on Youtube using my ipad or ifphone and experience the ads due to the fact I have yet to find a quality add blocker that works within the Youtube app.
