Here is the link to the overview pdf viewtopic.php?f=97&t=3438#p20240 of the videos from Russ, where you can search for the right assembly video and here are some Previews (maybe the pictures could get moved into the pdf?)

Re: Files From Russ
Hi Russ,
I have been absent from the laser engraving for a long time due to Ill health but am ok now
. What I would like to ask you for some help please , I switched on the laser a few weeks ago and found the tube was useless so I replaced it ok but now the head keeps going to the bottom right and shuttering until I hit escape it then goes to the middle of the bed bottom left, it only will only work on the bottom right 1/3 of the bed.I think the settings are screwed up I dont know how to reset them. I tryed to download the vendor settings from the forum but adobe says the files are curropt ,(please excuse the spelling) is there anything you can do to help. my machine is a chinese red kh7050 and i'm useing rdworks ( cant get into thunderlaser software yet) I look forward to hearing from you , Yours Paul.

Re: Files From Russ
Hi Paul- and welcome. Russ does not actually monitor this forum but we are acolytes of his teachings. It is not quite a religion as it may sound. It sounds like you have more than one problem [the laser tube should not affect the machine memory files. It appears you have deleted your Vendor files and that is what is in the rescue file section- unfortunately it is very common and easy to do. There is a lot of info in the FAQ files and I would spend an hour reading as much as you can stand- it will help you downstream, hopefully.
The Vendor/User/Machines files are quite different from machine to machine- the size may be the same but some machines home to a different corner-this will be determined by where the limit switches are positioned. Normally when homing the limit switch will stop the movement in X or Y and then back off a small amount and then slowly run back into the limit switch- that will determine the '0' position [there is a setting that may move the starting position a few mm away from the switch in both X and Y. The Z position will be set if there is an upper Z limit switch- otherwise will normally be set to 3000- if your indicators do not reset to '0' your limit switches are bad or some other issue connected to the switch exists.
The Vendor/User/Machine files also make adjustments for the different limit switch types and wiring possibilities- for instance reversing the polarities and directions of movement [this is pretty much a change one setting and then try it to see what it controls, patience is your friend. Each machine is built by different people who may or may not have any knowledge as to what they are doing and why. The cases are often built by one company of welders and painters and the machine assembled with different components [sometime with whatever is handy/cheap at that moment in time] by different people and perhaps marketed by some other group.
So the V/U/M files are only a starting point- you will know more than you want to know about the machines by the time you are functioning again.
That is why we always recommend saving these files before actually working on the machines- and sometime people do... Gene

Re: Files From Russ
Hi there,
does anyone know where I can find the dxf file from "Lightblade Learning Lab 09 Beam Alignment Health Checker" video ?
It doesn't seem to be here on that forum page.
Here is the link to Russ's video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ob4CaCa ... mn&index=9.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Files From Russ
Those vids were made for Lightblade and they may own the files . I have always used a version of the hand held tool with 5 holes in it which was a development of Russ's from an original tool that I shared with him years ago. Think that that is more versatile/useful. it uses a piece of tape on the reverse side and the 5 holes are sized to be just a bit larger than your nozzle [they do vary a bit]. If you need a file let me know and I will track one down.

Re: Files From Russ
Thanks for your answer Gene,
I can't use the 5 holes hand held tool in my Fablab for security reasons.
That's why I was loking for this safe design.
If I can't find it I will probably redesign it.
And if I find it or redesign it I will post a link here for others that might be interested.
All the best,
Ambroise

Re: Files From Russ
If you message him on his Youtube channel, he is very responsive and may be able to help with the design [I am sure he designed it, I have been looking at his designs for many years] he will help you if he can.
